Update: Broadway Murder Victim was Driving When He was Shot in Head
The Joliet man veered into oncoming traffic and crashed after he was shot in the head.

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet man was shot to death as he drove down Broadway near Ingalls Avenue two days before Christmas.
The unidentified man veered into oncoming traffic and crashed into another car after he was shot, police said.

Detectives don't know if the gunman was on foot or in another vehicle. A dark-colored car was seen speeding north after the shooting but it was unclear if it was involved in the attack.
Police are looking to see if surveillance video might shed light on the mysterious gun attack, said Deputy Chief Al Roechner.

The wounded man was taken to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center where he died about 4 p.m.
The murdered man was alone in the car, police said.
