
SHOREWOOD, IL — The Village of Shorewood is looking to hire census workers and is paying more than $16 an hour.
The village requested that the U.S. Census Bureau conduct a special census for certain areas in town.
Workers will be hired for 25 to 30 days starting Feb.1.

"The prospective applicants must be at least 18 years of age, must have a valid driver’s license and a vehicle available for their use, should have the ability to hear responses and to read questionnaires, should be able work several hours a day (a minimum of 20 hours per week) which often includes considerable walking and climbing of stairs; should be available for day, evening and weekend work, as needed and available to attend a four-day training session," the village said on its website.
The village is paying is $15.18 an hour for enumerators, $16.68 for crew leaders and $12.18 for clerical staff.

Applications can be acquired at Village Hall, One Towne Center Blvd. Suite 201 or here.
Testing is scheduled for Dec. 27 and 28. Applications will be accepted up to the date of testing.
