Channahon Community Park Partial Trail Closure
The western parking lot near and walking trail near S. Patricia Lane and W. McClintock Road will be closed to the public.
A partial closure for Channahon Community Park is scheduled beginning on Monday, October 19, 2020. The western parking lot near and walking trail near S. Patricia Lane and W. McClintock Road will be closed to the public. The trail closure will NOT have a posted detour and shall be considered a dead end for the duration of the closure. This partial closure is expected to last approximately 45 days.
Families and individuals looking to visit Channahon Community Park should use the main park entrance located near W. Jonathon Drive and W. McClintock Road. The Channahon Community Park modifications are due to the Rock Run Interceptor Rehabilitation Project. This project includes installation of approximately 13,700 linear feet of 30-inch to 48-inch cured-in-place pipelining. This project will restore the structural integrity of the sanitary sewer interceptor and reduce the amount of rain water entering the sanitary system. Walkers and bikers that use the Community Park trail should not enter and use extreme caution near the vicinity of the work zone.
