Cops Keeping Jewelry, Coins, Watches, Electronics, Thousands in Cash & Car Taken From Woman Arrested on Drug Charges

It was like Christmas all over again.

JOLIET, IL — A woman charged with possessing prescription drugs lost numerous pieces of jewelry, watches, coins, collectible money, thousands of dollars in cash and her 2005 Acura to the government.

Patsy Miller, 51, was still in jail when a hearing was held on the forfeiture of her property last week, according to court records. The docket said she failed to appear for the hearing. Judge Daniel Rozak ruled that Miller’s property was to remain with the seizing agency. Miller had been arrested by the Bolingbrook police.

Miller was charged on Dec. 20 with improper lane usage, driving on a suspended license and having a defective windshield. The Bolingbrook police also charged her with possessing Suboxone and clonazepam.

Miller was held in the Will County jail until her 37-year-old son, Mickey Miller of Chicago, posted $50,000 bond for her release. County records list addresses for Patsy Miller in both Chicago and Downstate Glen Carbon.

An affidavit of assets and liabilities Miller completed and signed when she appeared in court Dec. 20 said she was unemployed, had no income and owned nothing of any value. She is scheduled to return to court on the drug charges Jan. 10.
