Coroner Issues Press Release On Death Of Joliet Fire Captain

Captain Hargis was with Joliet's Fire Department for 22 years, and he was a hazardous materials team leader and safety committee member.

JOLIET — On Sunday, Mike VanOver of the Will County Coroner's Office issued a press release in regard to the recent death of 51-year-old Joliet Fire Department Captain Kevin Hargis.

The Plainfield man who was pronounced dead on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. at his residence of probable natural causes, the coroner's agency indicated.

The Joliet Police Department is now investigating the incident. An autopsy was performed on Sunday. Final cause and manner will be determined following Autopsy, Police and Toxicological reports, the agency noted.
