Crack Rock in Man’s Sock: Cops

The Westmont man was caught with crack in Braidwood, police said.

BRAIDWOOD, IL — A Westmont man was caught driving around Braidwood with crack rock in his sock, police said.

Andrew Stefanu, 47, was pulled over for a traffic violation Monday night on West Kennedy Road, police said.

Stefano reportedly appeared to be tooling around without a destination in mind.

The Braidwood cops called in a Will County drug dog, police said, and the dog indicated it detected the presence of drugs.

When confronted with this, police said, Stefanu admitted he had four crack rocks in his sock.

Stefanu was taken to the Will County jail.

Stefanu was the first person arrested on a felony drug charge in Braidwood this year.

“It seems like in today’s society, there’s no shortage of illegal drugs,” said Police Chief Nick Ficarello.
