Crest Hill Murder Victim Identified As Homeowner, Age 30: Coroner
Crest Hill police responded to the overnight killing early Sunday morning. They also have a suspect who was taken away for questioning.

CREST HILL — On Monday morning, following the autopsy, Will County Coroner Laurie H. Summers revealed that her agency has determined that the death of Cody Houlihan, a 30-year-old Crest Hill man who died on Sunday, is an apparent homicide.
Houlihan died inside his house at 2400 block of Red Oak Trail in Crest Hill. The Crest Hill Police and the Will Grundy Major Crimes Task Force are investigating the slaying.
An autopsy was performed on Monday and the final cause and manner will be determined following autopsy, police and toxicological reports.

So far, Crest Hill police have not disclosed what kind of weapon was used to end Houlihan's life.
Crest Hill Deputy Police Chief Jason Opiola said Houlihan was in a dating relationship with the woman who has remained with police under questioning in connection with his death.

According to public records, Houlihan became the owner of the Crest Hill ranch-style house on Red Oak Trail in the summer of 2023.
The neighborhood is near Cedarwood Drive and Ingalls Avenue.
