Did Hooded iPhone Thieves Try to Strike Again?
If they did, they got cold feet when they got a look at the seller's husband.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The day after three hooded crooks robbed a man they lured with a phony offer to sell an iPhone, three hooded men agreed to meet a woman at the Plainfield post office for another iPhone deal, but took off when they got a look at her husband.
The seller, Tracy Luna, said the person she was communicating with on Facebook sent her an obscene, insulting message as he and his two pals drove off in a blue Honda.
“I said, ‘What happened? Did my husband scare you off?’” Luna said. She had not told the person she was supposed to sell the phone to that she would have company when she met him Friday morning.

The night before, three hooded men on Osgood Street in Joliet stole $100 from a man who met with them to buy an iPhone. One of the hooded thieves also took a swing at the buyer but missed.
The tricky trio showed the buyer the box for an iPhone before he produced his money. The police later found the box on the ground. There was a bar of soap inside.

Both Luna and the man on Osgood made their iPhone deals through Facebook.
Luna said she has the Honda’s license plate number and came forward in hopes of assisting the man from the night before.
“I just wanted to help the person who got robbed,” she said, adding, “I’m from Joliet, so it would be hard to scam me.”
