Dry Cleaners to Give to Local Charities
KC Cleaners will donate 10 percent of proceeds to The American Red Cross and We Care of Grundy County.
KC Dry Cleaners has been in its current location, 455 N. Ottawa in downtown Joliet for six years. The business cleans anything from garments to Oriental rugs. When the floods came through the area, the owners of the cleaners wanted to do something to make a difference.
"We're gonna offer 10 percent of the gross income to one of the charities that has been set up to help the flood victims’," Walt Dankowski, marketing director said.
What the owners John and Stephanie Conway decided was to split the donation between two charities, the American Red Cross and We Care of Grundy County.

The business wants to remind customers that they are able to clean rugs that might have also been damaged in the floods.
"When I walked up to the door (Monday), we had, I would say, approximately 15 rugs of all shapes and sizes come in the door," Dankowski said. "A lot of times, you’re looking at possibly an heirloom, a lot of times it’s so expensive that it’s worth getting it repaired to throwing it away."
