Fake Boyfriend Stole MacBook From FedEx Store: Cops

He posed as a woman's boyfriend and stole her MacBook Pro from a FedEx store, police said.

JOLIET, IL — A Chicago man posed as a woman’s boyfriend so he could steal an Apple laptop that she had delivered to a FedEx store, police said.

Sadakai Minett, 39, faces a charge of felony theft in connection with his alleged computer caper.

Minett went to a FedEx store on Route 59 in Plainfield last month and pretended to be the boyfriend of a 54-year-old Naperville woman who had ordered a MacBook Pro, police said. He presented a piece of mail bearing the woman’s address to back up his claim to store employees, according to a criminal complaint on file in Will County court.
