Fight At Caton Farm Road Gas Station: Plainfield Woman Arrested

A glass bottle was used to strike the 40-year-old victim in the head at the BP gas station on Caton Farm Road, Joliet police said.

JOLIET — Joliet's overnight police officers responded to the BP gas station on Caton Farm Road and Route 59 for a fight involving two women early Thursday. One woman, 34-year-old Plainfield resident Shawtae Prince, was charged with aggravated battery before being released on a notice to appear in court.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 12:12 a.m. Thursday, an officer on routine patrol saw two women fighting in the parking lot of the BP gas station at 4802 Caton Farm Road.

The officer intervened and stopped the fight, according to English, who said that during the fight, Prince retrieved a glass wine bottle from her vehicle and struck a 40-year-old woman in the head with it.

Prince was then placed into custody without incident, English said. Both Prince and the victim were evaluated by Joliet Fire Department paramedics to minor injuries suffered from the fight. No one was taken to the hospital.
