Lent Special -- Fish Taco's at Jody's Hot Dogs

If you're looking for something other than Long John Silver's or a Filet-o'-Fish to meet your "no meat on Friday" obligation, here's an alternative that might appeal. And tell us your favorite fish location in the comment b

A stop at Jody's Hot Dogs means good food for little money, according to the fans in the city of Joliet. Jody's Hot Dogs won our Reader's Choice contest for best hot dogs.

In addition to the Chicago-style dog, the restaurant, on Republic Avenue in Joliet, is offering fish tacos throughout Lent.

I tried the tacos, without the flour tortilla and what I thought is this: if you are looking for a spicy taco, Jody's should be your first stop. The fish, which was a gigantic portion, is cajun spiced and is then topped with a chipotle-based sauce. I ordered mine without the tortillas. Those of you who have read my reviews before know I am a culinary wimp. The tacos were too spicy for me. However, the spice definately added flavor and if you like spicy food and are avoiding fish for Lent or just like seafood once in a while, I have to recommend you stop at Jody's.
