Man Tried Strangling Woman Inside Joliet's Riverwalk Homes Apartments: Police
Ryan Obot, age 39, was processed at the Joliet Police Department and transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department announced the arrest of 39-year-old Ryan Obot on charges of aggravated domestic battery and criminal property damage. The police indicated that Obot lives in Joliet now, while the Will County Jail has him residing in Calumet City.
According to police spokesman Dwayne English, this past Saturday, at 6:16 p.m., the officers responded to an apartment at Riverwalk Homes at 366 North Broadway Street for a disturbance.
English noted that Obot had allegedly attacked his ex-girlfriend by punching her in the face and strangling her. Obot is also accused of repeatedly kicking the apartment door, causing damage, authorities said.

Obot was placed into custody without incident. Obot was processed at the Joliet Police Department and transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility, where he remained in jail on Monday.
