Homeless Heroin Holders Nabbed in a Van Down By Braidwood: Cops

The couple had 30 bags full or partially full of heroin, police said.

BRAIDWOOD, IL — A homeless couple was caught in a van with 30 bags full or partially full of heroin, police said.

An officer pulled the van over on Coal City Road near Interstate 55 about 1:15 a.m. Friday. The driver, 42-year-old Timothy Keck, had a suspended license, police said. Keck and his passenger, Tiffany Miller, 32, both were charged with the possession of a controlled substance and taken to the Will County jail.

Both Keck and Miller reportedly claimed to be homeless at the time of their arrest. Keck has a last known address in Coal City, according to police.

Braidwood Police Chief Nick Ficarello spoke of his pride in his officers for their work combating the scourge of heroin.

“I’m proud of my men for the job they’re doing,” Ficarello said.
