Inmate’s Bloody Underwear Ignored By Jail Guard: Lawsuit
The convict is suing the sheriff and the jail.

JOLIET, IL — A convict serving a 30-month prison sentence claims a jail guard callously ignored him when he pointed out there was blood in his underwear, according to a lawsuit filed in Will County court.
Not long after a March 30 arrest for violating his probation on a domestic battery conviction, Scott Talbert, 39, informed a Will County jail guard that his underwear was bloody, the lawsuit said.
“I was assigned to A Pod cell 21 when I inform the correctional officer that there is blood in my underwear,” Talbert wrote in his lawsuit. “The correctional officer ‘stated’ that your business put them on because your not get anymore. I wanted to speak with a housing sergeant on duty, but was denied.”

Talbert is currently locked up at Western Illinois Correctional Center in Mount Sterling, where he is doing time for domestic battery. He is scheduled to be released in April.
Talbert, a union laborer, had pleaded guilty to striking a minor in the head and pulling a woman’s hair. Charges that he pushed and grabbed the woman were dismissed.
