New Restaurant Alert: 'Delicious Brunch & Handcrafted Coffees Daily'
Jitterhead replaced Crusade Burger Bar II in Crest Hill's Renwick Plaza. Megan Diaz and her husband spent five months renovating the space.

CREST HILL — The Joliet area's newest breakfast destination, in Crest Hill near Weber Road and Renwick Road, is now in its second week of operation. After five months of renovations to the former Crusade Burger Bar II, Megan Diaz and her husband, Jose, have opened their Jitterhead Breakfast Brunch & Coffee at the Renwick Plaza.
"Jitterhead is a family owned restaurant serving up delicious brunch & handcrafted coffees daily," its website proclaims.
Jitterhead Breakfast Brunch & Coffee is open daily, from 7 a.m, to 3:30 p.m.

"We do breakfast and lunch and have a nice coffee program," Megan Diaz explained during Monday's interview. "We just want people to know we're here, and we'll do more of a grand opening when we get our liquor license.
"We started working on here in January, so it's been about five months," she said.

Jitterhead hopes to have its liquor license approved within the next two to three weeks. That way, Jitterhead can offer Bloody Marys, mimosas and "frozen drinks."
Unlike most restaurants, Jitterhead offers coffee flights.
"We do them hot or iced," she said of the coffee flights.
As for the food menu, "we have gluten free options as well," Diaz remarked.
Jitterhead's classic breakfast option is called The Sunday Morning, and you can see a photo of it at the top of the story.
The Sunday Morning comes with two eggs, one meat choice, breakfast potato and choice of toast.
Other popular options include:
Country Fried Steak: Fried steak topped with sausage gravy, two egg, and breakfast potatoes.

Carnitas Benedict: English muffin topped with carnitas, two eggs your way, hollandaise sauce, pickled radish, fresh jalapeño, cilantro, and diced white onion.
Breakfast Charcuterie: Pancakes, breakfast sausage, hard-boiled eggs, fruit, and toast served with mashed avocado, whipped butter, and syrup on the side
Beignets: Fresh house-made beignets topped with powdered sugar served with sides of dulce de leche and dark chocolate sauce
Hot Honey Chicken & Biscuits: House-made biscuit with seasoned fried chicken topped with chives, pickles, and lemon zest drizzled with hot honey.

Jitterhead features outdoor patio seating. A portion of the restaurant will be opened in the coming weeks offering private breakfast buffets, "and once we have the liquor license, we can offer a Bloody Mary and Mimosa Bar," Diaz added.
Diaz encourages people in the Joliet and Crest Hill area to visit Jitterhead if they're coffee drinkers.
"We have a very good coffee program compared to most places," she said. "We use locally roasted coffee."
The name, Jitterhead, is derived from one of the smoothie drinks on her menu at her Yorkville café, which is called Juicehead smoothies & coffee. In addition to offering several homemade cold-brewed coffees in Crest Hill, Jitterhead is carrying Americano, lattes and espressos.

Although reservations are not required, Jitterhead does accept reservations, Diaz said. The phone number is 630-757-9059. The restaurant address is 20631 Renwick Road, Crest Hill. There is a separate website for customers wanting to place an online or carryout order that you can review here.
