Coroner IDs Motorcyclist Killed After Crashing Into Tree

The 26-year-old man died in the crash, which took place after he passed another vehicle and lost control of his bike, police said.

JOLIET, IL — A 26-year-old Joliet man was killed Wednesday night after he lost control of his motorcycle, hit a tree and was thrown from the bike, police said on Thursday.

The Will County Coroner's office identified the man as Daniel McKeon.

The crash happened just after 11 p.m. near the intersection of McDonald Avenue and Enterprise Drive, police said.

Police said McKeon attempted to pass another vehicle on the left side while traveling north on McDonald Avenue. The man then lost control of the bike, left the roadway and hit a tree. He was thrown off the bike and landed in the road, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
