"Following a preliminary investigation into this shooting, it is believed that the gunfire originated from outside in front of the residence. The gunfire entered the home and struck the three victims who were in a front living room. Officers found over 25 spent shell casings from the scene," English said.

He noted that this shooting appears isolated in nature and there is no known threat to the extended community at this time. A motive for the shooting as well as identification of a suspect or suspects remains under investigation by the Joliet Police Department Investigations Division.

Last Wednesday night, two Joliet shooting victims arrived at St. Joe's hospital in private vehicles after being shot near Oneida and Emery Street, but they did not want to discuss the shooting with detectives. Then, a few hours later, at The Birches apartment, ex-convict Tenzell Terry, who was involved in a 2020 double murder at the Parkwood Apartments, was fatally shot in a back parking lot, and the killer fired more than 20 gunshots during the killing of Terry at The Birches, which is off Glenwood Avenue.
