Joliet Really Good at Financial Reporting
The city won a prestigious award for its excellence in financial reporting.
JOLIET, IL — The City of Joliet was awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.
Joliet won the award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its comprehensive annual financial report.
"The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management," the city said in a press release, noting that an "Award of Financial Reporting Achievement has been awarded to the individual designated by the government as primarily responsible for preparing the award-winning CAFR. This has been presented to James Ghedotte, Director of Finance for the City of Joliet."
