Joliet Teen, 17, Shot In Mouth While Asleep In His Bedroom: Joliet Police
A man and a female juvenile in the home at the time of the shooting were uninjured in the early morning shooting.

JOLIET, IL — In the city of Joliet's first shooting of November, a 17-year-old boy suffered gunshot wounds to his mouth while he was sleeping, police said. The crime happened around 3:05 a.m. on Friday in the 900 block of Midland Avenue.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, the teen had been shot in the mouth while asleep in a bedroom of a nearby residence. Further investigation determined that the gunshots entered the residence from outside, striking the victim while he was in bed, English said.
The shooting victim was transported to St Joseph Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Multiple spent shell casings were recovered during a canvass of the area. A man and a juvenile girl in the home at the time of the shooting were uninjured.
