Late Starts, After-School Event Cancellations In Joliet Area
The impending ice storm is already leading to cancellations.

JOLIET, IL — All after-school activities are canceled Tuesday for Joliet Public Schools District 86 as well as Valley View School District 365U, and the several districts have announced a late start for Wednesday due to the impending ice storm.
District 86, Troy School District 30-C and Channahon School District 17 have all announced that school will begin two hours later than usual for all campuses on Wednesday.
"Bus routes will also be delayed two hours," District 86 said in a statement. "Bus riders should be at their bus stops two hours later than their regular pick-up time. Schools will not open until 30 minutes prior to the revised start times. Dismissal times on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 will remain the same."

Joliet's High School District 204 also issued the following press release: "Due to weather conditions, all after school activities, events and meetings have been cancelled for today, Tuesday, February 5.
"In addition, due to the forecasted weather conditions, the start of school has been delayed for tomorrow, Wednesday, February 6, 2019, and the first class of the day will not begin until 11:20 a.m. ... Although classes will not begin until 11:20 a.m., JTHS buildings will open at 10:30 a.m. and students may begin to arrive at this time tomorrow."

Ice Storm Warning: Freezing Rain Could Make For Dangerous Travel
Other districts, including District 308 in the Oswego area, have also called off after-school activities for Tuesday.
