Man, 39, Dies At Joliet's Motel, Alcohol A Factor: Joliet PD

Final cause and manner will be determined following autopsy, police and toxicological reports, announced Will County Coroner Laurie Summers.

JOLIET — The Joliet Police Department is not treating Friday afternoon's discovery of a dead man's body at a Plainfield Road motel as a homicide at this point in time.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English:

Joliet's officers responded to the Town House Motel at 832 Plainfield Road at 12:04 p.m., for a report of an unresponsive man in one of the guest rooms.

The officers located an unresponsive 39-year-old Joliet man in a guest room, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Will County Coroner’s Office.

It was believed that the man had fallen and struck his head on furniture while he was intoxicated, however, this remains under investigation by detectives.

The victim’s girlfriend was on scene and is cooperating with this investigation, English added.

Will County Coroner Laurie Summers posted a short news item on Facebook in regard to the man's death. However, Summers has decided to withhold releasing the dead Joliet man's identity.
