JOLIET, IL — Days after she was reported missing, a Joliet woman has been found safe in Chicago, police said.

"The Joliet Police Department is pleased to report that Selene Turner has been safely located in Chicago," police said via Facebook. "We thank our community as well as our law enforcement and media partners for their assistance in sharing this vital information."

The Joliet Police Department issued a missing person update Wednesday in regard to 58-year-old Selene M. Turner, who was reported missing on Tuesday from a residence in the 1400 block of Addleman Street.

According to the agency, Joliet Police detectives investigating this incident have developed information that Turner may have taken a Metra train to the La Salle Steet Station in Chicago during the early evening hours of October 28. Detectives have been in contact with the Chicago Police Department as well as Metra regarding her disappearance.

Joliet police officers responded to the residence at 1:18 p.m. after receiving a report that she had left home earlier in the day. She was last seen walking northbound from the area.

Officers completed an extensive search at the time and were not able to locate Turner.
