More Gunfire At The Birches, But Charges Are Coming This Time
White Birch Lane is the location of a large apartment complex off Glenwood Avenue.

JOLIET — For the second time this week, the Joliet Police Department was called to investigate gunfire at The Birches. There was also a fatal shooting there in late May, when Tenzell Terry, 25, of Joliet lost his life shortly before midnight at The Birches. He was shot in the back parking lot behind Building 2357.
On Thursday morning, Joliet police say the officers responded to the 2300 block of White Birch Lane at 5:20 a.m. for a call of shots fired.
No injuries were reported, and a preliminary investigation determined that nothing appeared to have been struck.

"This is still a fluid investigation many hours later," Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English announced in an email statement. "Officers have taken a person of interest in custody and charges are pending. I will provide further information in the form of a full release once charges are determined. This may come sometime this evening."
Earlier this week, at 11:08 p.m. on Monday, officers also responded to the 2300 block of White Birch Lane for a report of shots fired. Joliet police discovered four spent shell casings on the ground. Officers were unable to find any victims or property struck by the gunfire after completing a canvass of the area.
