More Gunfire On Campbell Near Murder Defendant's Home: Cops
Even though Johnny Hernandez Jr. remains in Will County's jail on first-degree murder charges, that isn't stopping violence near his house.

JOLIET— Even though Johnny Hernandez has remained in the Will County Jail since June on first-degree murder charges, the block where his house is located in the 500 block of Campbell Street remains the target of violent crime.
About 12 hours before Joliet Police Chief Bill Evans led a press conference to unveil Operation Streetsweeper, a Joliet police initiative that took 21 people into custody during the previous 24 hours, including Johnny Hernandez's brother, Angel Vargas, Joliet police say they responded to another shots fired incident in the 500 block of Campbell Street.
At 1:54 a.m. on Thursday, the officers responded to the 500 block of Campbell Street for a report of shots fired. Two unoccupied vehicles were struck by the gunfire. Multiple spent shell casings were located in the area.
