'Now Leasing' 570 New Apartments Under Construction In Joliet: 'It's So Close To Everything'
If you've been thinking about moving, The View at Joliet's Run Run Collection might be your next destination.

JOLIET, IL — As travelers along Interstate 55 have started to notice, Joliet's greatest development can be seen in the distance along I-55 at the Seil Road interchange where Diane Cullinan Oberhelman of Cullinan Properties has her Rock Run Collection. Now, the residential housing component of the Rock Run Collection is taking shape and in the final stretch of phase one construction.
Cullinan Properties is now leasing The View at Rock Run Collection. The brochure motto is: "Experience Where Life and Living Meet."
Phase one of the project is in the home stretch: 264 apartments. The second phase will begin in 2026 and that consists of the remaining 306 apartments. The apartments at 1201 Rock Run Crossing consist of studios, one bedroom and two-bedroom floorplans.

Last week, Joliet Patch interviewed Cullinan Properties executive vice president of construction Kevin Thornton, who has over 40 years of experience in multi-family construction projects. Thornton believes The View will be a very attracting housing option for working professionals who work in Chicago or Chicago suburbs since The View is right off the Interstate 55 interchange.
"We're trying to develop a lifestyle or community feel," he explained. "It's a super-regional destination that will have a downtown feel with its walkability and walking paths and it's right off Interstate 80 and Interstate 55.

Thornton said he expects to have the first tenants moving into The View before the end of January. He believes that The View will be highly sought because "it's only 15 minutes to Bolingbrook or Naperville. It's 30 minutes to Burr Ridge. It's 25 minutes to Downers Grove. It's so close to everything. There's a housing shortage in the United States and we're hoping to alleviate that."
The community amenities include: resort-style swimming pool, state of the art 7,638-square-foot clubhouse, 24/7 fitness center, grilling stations, private garages and surface lot parking. There will be EV charging stations, monthly resident events, maintenance-free living and on-site management.
According to Rock Run Collection, the apartment amenities feature modern finishes, stainless steel appliances, patio or balconies, walk-in closets, quartz countertops, luxury plank flooring, in-unit washer and dryer and 9-foot ceilings.
Elsewhere at Rock Run Collection, August marked the grand opening of its anchor attraction: Joliet's new Hollywood Casino. Last week marked the grand opening for the new Chipotle Mexican Grill. And Joliet Patch also broke the news revealing how a Drury Plaza Hotel, 7 stories high and 180 rooms, will be built starting in January on the land in front of the Hollywood Casino.
The Drury Plaza Hotel could be finished in late 2026, but it's more likely to open in early 2027. In addition to those projects, full construction will start in early 2026 for the new Ricky Rockets gas station and convenient store and also for a Chick-fil-A restaurant that will go next to the Chipotle. A Culver's has also been announced as part of the collection of new fast-food restaurants being built at Rock Run Collections.
