Olivia Newton-John Coming to Rialto

JOLIET, IL — Keeping with the 1970s theme instilled by the recently announced musical lineup at the Taste of Joliet, Olivia Newton-John will appear at the Rialto Square Theatre.

Newton-John is coming to Joliet for a May 11 show.

“With a career spanning over five decades with more than 100 million albums sold, Olivia’s successes include four Grammys, numerous Country Music, American Music, Billboard and People’s Choice Awards, an Emmy Award, ten #1 hits and more than 15 top 10 singles,” according to a statement released by the Rialto.

Newton-John “catapulted” into “super-stardom” when she starred opposite John Travolta in the 1978 film “Grease,” the statement said.

Other things that were popular in the 1970s include Survivor, 38 Special and Kansas. They will be at the Taste of Joliet in June.

Tickets for Newton-John’s show go on sale Feb. 24.
