Oswego LA Fitness Equipped With Defibrillator - But Staff Never Used It to Save Woman: Lawsuit
The woman suffered severe brain damage, the lawsuit said.

An Oswego LA Fitness was equipped with a defibrillator — but none of the staff used it to help a woman who ended up suffering severe brain damage, according to a lawsuit filed in Will County court.
The woman, Dollet Smith Hawkins, and her husband, Leo Hawkins, are suing Fitness International, LA Fitness and LA Fitness Oswego.
Dollet Smith Hawkins was a patron of the Ogden Falls Boulevard LA Fitness in November 2012 when she “suffered a medical event which required the use of an automated external defibrillator,” the lawsuit said, but for some reason, none of the health club staff attempted to employ one.
