JOLIET — The Joliet Police Department remained busy over Labor Day weekend and one of the many shooting locations that officers tried to investigate happened to be on the city's east side, an area that has been the site of numerous shootings over the years: Youngs Avenue.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 3:53 a.m. on Saturday, officers responded to the 300 block of Youngs Avenue for shots fired. At the crime scene, the officers discovered more than 20 spent shell casings in front of a house.

Officers saw gunfire damage to the house but were unable to determine if the damage was new or old as the occupants of the home refused to cooperate.
