Passenger in Car Blocking Traffic Had Gun in Glove Box: Cops
The cops couldn't get past, police said, and when they looked in the car they saw a gun.

JOLIET, IL — A passenger in a car blocking Rosalind Street got caught with a loaded gun when the cops couldn’t get past, police said.
A cop car came up on a 2011 Ford Taurus stopped in the middle of Rosalind near Englewood Avenue shortly before 8:30 p.m. Friday, police said. The Taurus’ parking lights were reportedly on but its headlights were off.
Unable to get around, two officers emerged from the squad car and walked up on the Taurus, police said, and as they approached, noticed the man in the passenger seat trying to hide something in the glove compartment.

The passenger, 22-year-old Darvin Luckett, didn’t do a very good job, police said, as the officers could still see the butt of a pistol sticking out of the glove box. The pistol was reportedly loaded.
Luckett was arrested and booked into the Will County jail on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, defacing a firearm’s identification marks and possession of ammunition without a firearm owner’s identification card.
