Pit Bull Seen Hanging From Fence: Cops

The dog's owner was charged with animal cruelty.

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet man was charged with animal cruelty after the cops investigated a report of a pit bull hanging from a fence, police said.

Police were reportedly contacted by Joliet Township Animal Control about a dog seen hanging from a fence on Charlesworth Avenue Monday morning.

The dog was on a cable attached to a fence post, police said. The cable had reportedly been woven through the fence so the dog had only a foot of slack. The lead had reportedly been shortened to keep the dog away from the residence’s garage.
