Public Indecency At Essington Rd Business, Sex Offender Arrest: JPD

JOLIET — A 44-year-old sex offender out of Chicago named Curley King is now in the Will County Jail after Joliet police arrested him in connection with a public masturbation incident inside an Essington Road medical clinic.

On Tuesday, Joliet police located King and brought him to the Will County Jail for his arrest warrant related to charges of public indecency, disorderly conduct and failure to register as a sex offender.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said the incident leading to King's arrest happened four weeks ago.

According to English:

On May 17, at 2:17 p.m., Joliet police responded to the Emediate Cure at 1508 Essington Road for public indecency.

Officers learned that King had entered the clinic complaining of a medical issue in his groin. King was brought to an examination room for treatment. While a female nurse was taking King’s vital records, she noticed that King had his genitals exposed and he was actively masturbating.

King was told to stop, and the female nurse exited the room. A male medical provider entered the room at which time King refused medical treatment and left the building.

King was unable to be located at that time.

During this investigation, it was learned that King is a registered sex offender out of Chicago who was out of compliance and had failed to register in Chicago.

The last record noted for King registering as a sex offender was on February 10, 2020.

Joliet police obtained an arrest warrant for King on May 31 and this past Tuesday at 4:15 p.m., officers spotted King in a vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near Hickory Street and Division Street. King was placed into custody without incident.

"Following questioning, King admitted to his lewd acts at the medical clinic on May 17," English announced in Thursday's press release.
