Joliet police say Jeremy Ledesma and his adult victim were traveling in a vehicle westbound on Caton Farm Road near Route 59

JOLIET — A 21-year-old Joliet motorist named Jeremy Ledesma spent Wednesday night in the Will County Jail after Joliet police say he engaged in reckless driving and then punched a man and a woman who were driving another vehicle, following a parking lot confrontation.
Officers hauled Ledesma off to the jail on Wednesday, and he's charged with two counts of battery.

At 1:36 p.m., officers responded to a business parking lot in the 2300 block of Route 59 for a battery. A man and a woman who were traveling in a vehicle westbound on Caton Farm Road near Route 59 saw another person driving a Mazda driving recklessly in the area.
The victims pulled into a nearby parking lot and were followed by the Mazda, which was driven by Ledesma, according to Joliet police.

The driver of the Mazda and approached the passenger side of the victim’s vehicle where the man was seated and began cursing at him, telling him to exit.
Ledesma then tried to punch the male victim through an open window. The victim exited the vehicle and he and Ledesma struggled on the ground.
The female victim exited the vehicle to intervene, and she was struck in the face by Ledesma, who then sped off in the Mazda. Both victims were uninjured.
Detectives investigating the incident identified Ledesma as the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant for two counts of battery this week. Ledesma was taken into custody at his house in the 6900 block of Twin Falls Drive on May 29, 2024, at 6:47 p.m.
Shortly after supper time on Thursday, Ledesma was let out of the Will County Jail, his jail logs reflect.
