Roc City Bar And Grill In Rockdale: Hulk Hogan Birthday Salute Just Days Away
Wrestling star Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, died at his Clearwater home after a "serious medical condition," police said.
ROCKDALE, IL — The Roc City Bar and Grill at 508 Moen Avenue in Joliet's neighbor to the south, Rockdale, will be holding a Hulk Hogan event in a few days to honor the legendary professional wrestler who recently died following a heart attack in Florida.
Roc City posted on Facebook that "everyone and anyone are welcomed to participate in a beer shotgun salute to honor Hulk Hogan on his birthday, Monday, August 11." The event will be at 7 p.m. and Roc City "will provide Hulk's "Real American Beer, ice cold too."
People are asked to arrive by 6:45 p.m. to join for the 7 p.m. salute to Hulk Hogan.

Last September, New Lenox Patch reported that iconic professional wrestler Hulk Hogan would make an appearance at Jewel-Osco, 475 N. Nelson, to promote his new "Real American Beer." The New Lenox stop was one of 10 planned in Illinois as Hogan body slams the brand he co-founded into another Midwestern market, after it entered the ring in Florida, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
Illinois became the 12th state to crack open a can of the 4.2% ABV, light lager.

Hogan was born in Augusta, Georgia. He started wrestling in the 1970s and rose to fame after joining the World Wrestling Federation in 1983, according to his biography.
His catchphrase, “Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you,” became widely known in households.
Hogan was perhaps the biggest star in WWE’s long history. He was the main draw for the first WrestleMania in 1985 and was a fixture for years, facing everyone from Andre The Giant and Randy Savage to The Rock and even company chairman Vince McMahon.
He won at least six WWE championships and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.
In late July, Patch reported that emergency medical technicians in Florida responded to Hogan's home for a report of a cardiac arrest just before 10 a.m., police said. He was treated for a "serious medical issue" by Clearwater Fire and Rescue crews before being taken by Sunstar to Morton Plant Hospital, where he died at 11:17 a.m.
