JOLIET — A 28-year-old Rockdale woman is back at home following her release from the Will County Jail under the SAFE-T-Act in connection with Sunday's violent encounter in Joliet, where authorities say Jaquelin Cintora attacked one of the Joliet police officers.

According to the agency, Cintora was taken to the Will County Jail during the early morning hours of Sunday on charges of aggravated battery to a peace officer and obstructing justice.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said at 1:26 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to First Avenue and Union Street for a disturbance. Officers located an intoxicated Cintora in the street and learned that she was attempting to argue with other family members. As the officers attempted to deescalate the situation, Cintora shoved one officer in the chest, English said.
