Route 30 Fatal Crash Prompts Shutdown In Joliet: State Police
Monday morning's fatality happened after 10 a.m. and the Illinois State Police is in charge of the investigation.

JOLIET — Route 30 has been blocked off and motorists are being forced to take alternative routes because of Monday's mid-morning fatality. The crash is along Route 30 near Cherry Hill in New Lenox Township.
Illinois State Police said that the fatality happened around 10:15 a.m.
The agency said that Illinois State Police Troop 3 responded for the two-vehicle crash, involving a Ford sedan and a GMC truck.

One person was dead at the scene. Two people were rushed to an area hospital with injuries.
The ISP Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit is assisting, and US-30 is shut down near the crash scene while officers continue their investigation. There is no additional information, the Illinois State Police notified Joliet Patch.
