Runaway Horse Trampled Groom: Lawsuit
The horse "became spooked and broke free," the lawsuit said.

JOLIET, IL — A runaway horse trampled and stomped on a groom at Balmoral Park, leaving her seriously injured, according to a lawsuit filed in Will County court.
Groom Shelley Steele has sued Windy City Farm in McHenry County, farm owner Rick Schulze, and Bill Galvin, a groom working for Schulze.
Steele had escorted a horse to the track and was walking back to the paddock of the now closed park when she was trampled by a horse named Why Ask Why in February 2015, the lawsuit said.

Schulze was also Why Ask Why’s owner and trainer, according to the lawsuit.
Why Ask Why was being detached from its sulky after a race when it “became spooked and broke free … and wildly ran away,” the suit said.
