RV Attack In Joliet, Woman Choked, Escapes Attacker: Joliet Police

JOLIET — A 26-year-0ld Joliet man is now in the Will County Jail after Joliet police say Eric Salinas tried choking a woman inside a recreational vehicle last Friday. Salinas is being kept in the jail on charges of aggravated domestic battery.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said around 11:50 a.m. May 24, officers responded to a house in the 900 block of North Hickory Street for a domestic disturbance. A woman indicated she was attacked by Salinas while in a recreational vehicle in the rear of a house in the 300 block of Parks Avenue.

"It is alleged that during an argument, Salinas slapped the victim across the face and pushed her," English said. As the victim attempted to flee the recreational vehicle, Salinas began choking the victim, English noted.

The victim managed to escape from the vehicle, and Joliet police found Salinas at the address on Parks Avenue and placed him into custody.
