This marks the first time in 2024 that Joliet Patch has reported on any shooting incident at one of the hotels off Interstate 80 and the Houbolt Road exit.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 1:51 a.m. Monday, officers responded to the Fairfield Inn at 1501 Riverboat Center Drive for a report of shots fired.
Officers found multiple spent shell casings on the ground in the parking lot and what appeared to be shattered glass from a vehicle. Following a canvass of the immediate area, officers were unable to locate any victims or shooting suspects, and nothing else appeared to have been struck by gunfire.
