State Cops Charge 4 Teens With Sneaking Into Old Joliet Prison, Breaking Stuff

The four teens broke windows and lights, police said.

Four teens allegedly slipped into the yard of the old Joliet prison and smashed some things.

The four 18-year-olds — Emilio Guzman of Shorewood, along with Jeffrey Hein, Pedro Martinez and Nicholas Towery, all of Joliet — were charged with felony criminal damage to state supported property and misdemeanor criminal trespass to state supported land.

The young men gained entry to the prison yard of the abandoned Joliet Correctional Center last month, according to a criminal complaint filed in Will County court. They also allegedly broke windows and lights.
