Suicide in Jewel Parking Lot — Man Shot Himself in Head While Sitting in Car: Cops

JOLIET, IL — A man was found dead in the driver’s seat of a Chevy Impala parked in the lot of the North Larkin Avenue Jewel Wednesday morning.

Police determined the 27-year-old committed suicide. He was reportedly found with a bullet wound to his head. A black handgun was located inside the car, police said.

Police were called about the dead man shortly before 9 a.m. Officers reviewed surveillance video and saw no one approach the black Impala after it pulled into the lot and parked.

An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday.
