Suitcase Used As Weapon At Wesmere Lakes Drive House: Joliet PD

JOLIET — A 29-year-old woman from Plainfield has been arrested by Joliet police on two counts of domestic battery in connection with a disagreement over the possession of a suitcase, Joliet arrest reports show.
Abigail Browder was brought to the Will County Jail, where she is lodged on the domestic battery counts, stemming from her Will County arrest warrant. This marks Browder's fourth trip to the Will County Jail since 2019, jail logs show.
According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, at 4:54 p.m. June 5, officers responded to Browder's house in the 2100 block of Wesmere Lakes Drive for a domestic disturbance.

During an argument with a 25-year-old woman inside the Plainfield-area home, Browder and the victim began to struggle over a suitcase, police said. The suitcase broke, at which time it is alleged that Browder struck the victim with the suitcase multiple times.
Browder then left the house, and was not present when Joliet police arrived.

Detectives investigating this incident obtained an arrest warrant for two counts of domestic battery on June 26.
On Monday afternoon, Browder was taken into custody at 2:02 p.m. after turning herself in at the Joliet Police Department. Browder also held an active Will County warrant for failing to appear in court on previous unrelated charges, Joliet police pointed out.
In late June, the Will County Sheriff's Office had Browder in jail on charges of battery and obstructing justice.
