Telling Judge ‘Chill Out’ Lands Man in Jail For 2 Days
He got to chill in jail for a couple days.

JOLIET, IL — A disruptive Kankakee man landed in jail when he told a judge to “chill out” as he was getting kicked out of court.
Charles Bender, 29, spent two days in the Will County jail for his outburst as he departed Judge Brian Barrett’s courtroom, according to court records.
It was not clear why Bender was in Judge Barrett’s courtroom in the first place, as he does not have a case in front of him, court records show.

Whatever he was doing there, Bender was told to leave, and on his way out, he “disrupted court … by loudly exclaiming ‘chill out’ to the judge,” a court order said.
Bender was released from jail Friday morning.
