Trouble In Louis Joliet Apartments As Joliet Man Kicks In Woman's Door, Destroys Cabinet: Prosecutors

JOLIET, IL — A 36-year-old Joliet man, Judon Lindsey, now finds himself in the Will County Jail after weekend Judge Gabriel Orenic imposed the SAFE-T-Act's dangerousness standard, following Lindsey's arrest last weekend in downtown Joliet at the Louis Joliet Apartments.

Lindsey is now charged with two counts of residential burglary, criminal damage to property, two counts of domestic battery and theft.

According to the prosecution's petition to deny pretrial release, Joliet police responded to the Louis Joliet Apartments at 22 E. Clinton St. at 9:54 p.m. Nov. 7, and officers were advised that Lindsey was trying to kick down the door. At the scene, officers saw that Lindsey, had in fact, kicked in the door, forced entry into the apartment, broke the kitchen cabinets and took the victim's wallet, court documents show.

A 46-year-old woman told Joliet police that Lindsey had been living in her unit the past four months until property management notified them that he could no longer stay there. The woman indicated to Joliet police that she was not sure if Lindsey trespassed or was banned, but she went ahead and changed the locks to her apartment after being notified that Lindsey was no longer welcome to reside there.

Prosecutors revealed to the judge that once Lindsey broke into her apartment, he grabbed the kitchen cabinet and broke it in half. The woman was lying down in the bedroom when Lindsey grabbed a white cell phone charging port and threw it at her right eye, court records allege. Back at the Joliet police station, Lindsey blurted out, "I should have choked her ass up," prosecutors said.

Joliet police noted that the damage to the woman's front door was estimated at $500, the damage to the front door lock was $160 and the kitchen cabinet damage was $150. The total value of all the damage was listed at around $810.

As for Lindsey's criminal history, prosecutors noted that he was on pretrial release in Will County for a resisting a peace officer arrest. His other convictions include obstructing a police officer in Will County from 2024, indecent exposure in 2015 in Mississippi and manufacture and delivery of controlled substances in Will County in 2009.
