JOLIET — It's rare for the Joliet Police Department to respond to crimes of violence at the Hollywood Casino off Route 6, but that's what happened early Friday night, resulting in the eventual arrest of 51-year-old Plainfield resident Gary Lobello. Lobello was later released on a notice to appear at the Will County Courthouse on charges of battery.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said at 7:40 p.m., officers responded to Hollywood Casino at 777 Hollywood Boulevard for a report of a battery.

A 67-year-old man was playing a slot machine, and police said it's believed he walked away to use an ATM, leaving his player’s card in the machine. He returned to find a woman using the machine, and an argument ensued between them.
