'Vulnerable' Woman Visits Joliet Hotel, Police Reveal She's Been Safely Located

Anyone with information regarding the location of Riene Valencia is asked to call 9-1-1 or the Joliet Police Department at (815)726-2491.

JOLIET, IL —The Joliet Police Department often investigates several new missing person cases every week, but only a small percentage of them are designated for social media attention. One such case is Thursday's disappearance of 52-year-old Riene Valencia. Joliet police say the missing woman was last seen in the area behind the Louis Joliet Mall, over in the 4000 block of Hennepin Drive.

Valencia is 5-foot-5 and weighs 239 pounds, she has brown eyes and brown hair.

"She was last seen wearing a black sweater, black tights, and a black beanie cap. Ms. Valencia is an out of state resident staying at a local hotel. There is concern that she may be in a vulnerable state due to a mental health episode," Joliet police announced.

"Riene Valencia has been located. Thank you for your assistance," Joliet police later announced.
