Shooting Actually Occurred In Romeoville: Crest Hill PD

The shooting closed a section of Weber Road for several hours.

CREST HILL, IL — Hours after responding to a reported shooting near Weber Road on Thursday, Crest Hill police say they have new information indicating the incident actually occurred in the Romeoville Police Department's jurisdiction on Airport Road. Crest Hill Police Chief Ed Clark said police responded at around 4:15 p.m. to a report that a man was shot near Weber and Renwick roads.

Another person drove the gunshot victim to the fire station at 135th Street and Weber Road to seek help, police said.

From there, the wounded man was taken to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital while Crest Hill police closed a section of northbound Weber between Renwick and Ryan Drive to investigate. At around 9 p.m., police said the road had reopened.

Clark said he did not have information on the man's condition, and referred further questions to the Romeoville Police Department.
