What’s That on Your Shelf? Share Its Story at Isle a la Cache Museum
Bring a curious item and share its story during this interactive program that celebrates the art of collecting and storytelling.

Everyone has that one mysterious or meaningful object sitting on a shelf – maybe a fossil, an old coin or a curious rock. But have you ever stopped to wonder about the story it tells?
Join the Forest Preserve District of Will County from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 8, at Isle a la Cache Museum in Romeoville for Stories from the Shelf, a free program for adults that turns everyday curiosities into conversation pieces.
Registration is required by Thursday, Nov. 6. Register online or call 815-722-9301.

A Forest Preserve naturalist will explore how collections and curiosity cabinets evolved into the museums we know today. Then, guests are invited to share their own items, from heirlooms to oddities, and the stories behind them. You don’t have to bring an object to participate; just come ready to learn and connect.
A Stories from the Shelf for Kids program will also be held at the museum on the same day from 1 to 2 p.m. The program is for ages 6 and older. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required.
