Worker Trapped Beneath Heavy Machinery and Killed: Coroner

The Joliet man was killed at his job in Rockdale.

ROCKDALE, IL — A Joliet man got trapped beneath heavy machinery at his job Thursday and was killed, according to Will County Coroner Patrick O’Neil’s office.

Robert Dykes, 55, was pronounced deceased shortly after 12:15 p.m. He was killed at his job on Connell Avenue, the coroner’s office said.

An autopsy was scheduled for Friday.
