• City of Kewanee Zoning Board of Appeals met Nov. 12 (rockislandtoday.com) — Kewanee’s Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended allowing a wider driveway at 437 East Street South, granting a six-foot variance beyond the usual 24-foot residential limit. Board members cited traffic and safety concerns on the busy street, and the request now heads to City Council for final approval.
   

• First Choice Healthcare Colona Clinic to End Primary Care Services ONLY on December 5, 2025 (regionalmedianews.com) — Primary care is ending at First Choice Healthcare’s Colona Clinic, and some staff will be reassigned to First Choice locations in Kewanee and Toulon, helping maintain local access to care. Public health and WIC services will still operate in Colona, and officials say they’re working through financial pressures while trying to ensure patients experience a smooth transition to new providers.
   

• Obituary-Ernest Telkemeyer (aroundptown.com) — Kewanee-area residents are remembering Ernest “Ernie” Telkemeyer, who spent his later years under the care of staff at Kewanee Nursing Home and was deeply grateful for their support. A retired John Deere employee and award-winning hypnotist, Ernie was known for his love of antique tractors, his work with the Antique Engine and Tractor Association, and his friendly conversations around Geneseo.
